Project Overview

When I met Fabian Dietrich, I was instantly hooked on his mission “Teaching to code through Storytelling”. We partnered to bring this project to life.

Frobocode strives to make learning to code more fun. It’s a browser‑based course that blends illustrated narratives with hands‑on programming challenges: instead of reading a dry tutorial, you play through a text adventure and solve puzzles to advance.

Key Features

• Story‑driven curriculum – topics like HTML and CSS are introduced through dark‑fantasy storylines rather than a series of code snippets.
• Interactive exercises – embedded editors let you write code in context and get instant feedback, similar to Codecademy but with a narrative wrapper .

Impact

The Frobocode demo took roughly two months of evenings and weekends to build and was submitted as part of a YCombinator application. Our launch gathered some interest, but we didn’t see enough paying users to be commercially viabile.
